On the occasion of World Clinical Trials Day, AELMHU has published a new edition of the Annual Report on Clinical Trials in Rare Diseases in Spain. It analyses the number of clinical trials that have been authorised in Spain during 2021, the number of patients who have participated, the Autonomous Communities and hospitals that have hosted the largest number of trials and the therapeutic areas most investigated. As well as a comparison and evolution of research over the last 5 years.
Furthermore, the data confirm Spain's leading position in clinical research at international level thanks to the collaboration and dialogue between researchers, healthcare professionals, scientific societies, patients, the Administration and pharmaceutical companies.
Therefore, all advances in this field are the definitive incentive for Spanish society to continue to commit to the path of innovation as the main way to improve the health and quality of life of the 3 million rare disease patients and their families.
