The Spanish Association of Orphan and Ultra Orphan Drug Laboratories(AELMHU) has been incorporated as an active member of the PERTE Alliance (Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation), together with representatives of public administrations, scientific societies, business and patient associations.
In this sense, El PERTE de Salud de Vanguardia is a strategic initiative of the Government of Spain that seeks to transform the healthcare system through science, innovation and digitalization. It aims to improve prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients in a personalized way, incorporating technologies such as precision medicine, advanced therapies and artificial intelligence.
Agenda
In line with this incorporation, AELMHU has been able to participate this Thursday in the meeting of the PERTE Alliance for Vanguard Health, co-chaired by the Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant; and the Minister of Health, Monica Garcia. During the meeting, the actions already carried out and being carried out under the PERTE for Vanguard Health were presented, highlighting the milestones achieved, the strategic objectives underway and the inter-ministerial coordination. Both ministers emphasized that, through this dialogue, "a more innovative, connected and people-centered healthcare system is being consolidated".
Prior to this, a previous working session was held under the title "The future of R&D&I in health as a lever for health, economic and industrial transformation in Spain", which was structured in two blocks:
- The first, to define the state of the R&D&I and digitalization ecosystem in Spain, including its current and/or potential impact on improving the health of the population and generating opportunities for economic growth.
- The second, to develop proposals for future investment priorities.
AELMHU would like to thank all the agents involved for their participation in this joint work session, which has served to share actions and align efforts to achieve the objectives of this Alliance.
