AELMHU receives the "Spain in the heart" award promoted by ASEDEF and TAQ distinctions. As part of the solidarity campaign in response to the Covid-19 crisis.

The Spanish Association of Orphan and Ultra Orphan Medicinal Products (AELMHU) has received this morning the "Spain in the Heart" award, granted by the Spanish Association of Pharmaceutical Law (ASEDEF) and TAQ Distinctions in recognition of the work of all professionals, companies and citizens who have rowed tirelessly so that, together, we can overcome the harsh health, social and economic crisis caused by Covid-19.

The event, held in Madrid, was attended by AELMHU's president, Jorge Capapey, and the executive director of the Association, Marian Corral; Mariano Avilés and Juan Parera, president and head of Institutional Relations of ASEDEF; and José Luis Romero, executive director of TAQ Distinciones.

For Mariano Avilés, this ASEDEF distinction praises "the enormous effort to serve society by the entire pharmaceutical industry that AELMHU represents so well, and which earns it all the recognition for its commitment to social responsibility and dedication to patients with rare diseases, being the benchmark for orphan and ultra-orphan drugs in Spain".

In a brief speech of thanks, Jorge Capapey congratulated all AELMHU members for this recognition and took the opportunity to leave a message of future and hope: "from AELMHU we will continue to have patients at the centre of our work, promoting research and development, and the recognition of the therapeutic and social value of orphan drugs, so that together - patient associations, public administrations, healthcare personnel, the scientific community and civil society - we can improve their quality of life and that of their families".
