Campaña por el Día Mundial de Enfermedades Raras

Today AELMHU has attended the presentation of the FEDER campaign 'In rare diseases, prevention is better than cure?' framed in the World Day for Rare Diseases to be held next February 29, a date even more special this leap year in which FEDER also celebrates 25 years of experience. The presentation took place in the Por Talento Digital room thanks to the support of Fundación ONCE.

The event, inaugurated and presented by Juan Carrión and Isabel Motero, President and General Director of FEDER, respectively, together with Jesús Martín Blanco, who represented the state administration as General Director of People with Disabilities of the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 20230.

With this campaign and under this slogan, FEDER seeks to reflect on the possibilities of acting as soon as possible because, "although the appearance of almost all rare diseases can not be avoided and we can not cure most of them, this does not mean that we can not address them early and curb their consequences," said the Director of FEDER.

Therefore, the organization proposes to act on three levels: Firstly, research to understand the origin of the disease. Secondly, in diagnostic programs that allow early identification of the disease and, lastly, with a access to treatment pharmacological and therapies that prevent the aggravation of the disease, favor its improvement or even cure it.
