The Royal Illustrious Official College of Pharmacists of the Province of Seville, the Mehuer Foundation, Feder and its foundation are organising their 10th International Congress on Orphan Drugs and Rare Diseases on 26, 27 and 28 April. On the first day, the roundtables focused on: "Realities and expectations in the diagnosis of rare diseases", "Diagnosis as a determining factor in patients' hope" and "Resources and limitations in the treatment of rare diseases". This third round table, moderated by Antonio Mingorance Gutiérrez, President of the Andalusian Council of Official Pharmacists' Associations, was attended by our Vice-President, David Moneno, whose presentation focused on analysing the impact of orphan drugs from the social, economic, research, innovation and patient perspectives.

Also speaking at the same table were: Gloria María Palomo Carrasco, non-clinical evaluator of the Pharmaco-Toxicological Evaluation Service of the Department of Medicines for Human Use of the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products, to talk about the activity of the committees and departments of orphan drugs in the EMA and the FDA, and Jordi de Dalmases Balañá, vice-president of the General Council of Pharmaceutical Associations, whose presentation focused on the experiences of collaborative dispensing of medicines.
