AELMHU receives the Avenzoar Foundation's 2022 Award

The Spanish Association of Orphan and Ultra Orphan Drug Laboratories has received the 2022 Award from the Avenzoar Pharmaceutical Foundation in Seville, on its XXXVIII Anniversary. The award was given in recognition of all the associates for their work in research and development of treatments for patients with rare diseases and their collaboration with Pharmacy.

Sergio Bullón, a member of the association's board, represented AELMHU, receiving the award from Manuel Pérez, trustee of the Avenzoar Pharmaceutical Foundation and President of the Royal College of Pharmacists of Seville.

During the ceremony, the great professional careers of Manuel Ojeda Casares (posthumously) and Moisés Abascal Alonso were also recognised, as well as the work of Astrazeneca, Janssen, Moderna and Pfizer for having made possible the manufacture of effective vaccines against COVID-19,

The event included a Master Lecture given by Pablo E. Pérez-Mallaína Bueno, Professor of the Department of American History at the Faculty of Geography of the University of Seville, on: "The first circumnavigation of the planet and the new image of the world".
