María José Sánchez, president of AELMHU, has participated in the Post-Ws RareReview 2022, a multidisciplinary meeting organised by Sanofi with the aim of gathering the highlights on Lysosomal diseases presented at the WorldSymposium in the USA.
Throughout the day, topics such as screening, comprehensive care for patients with rare diseases and biomarkers were discussed.
The president took part in the round table "Research and Equity in Innovation" together with Álvaro Lavandeira Hermoso, Elena Corchete Prats, Jorge Gómez Cerezo, Dr. Domingo Gómez-Lamuño Leguina, Dr. José Luis Poveda Andrés, Dr. Rafael López López and Salvador García.
Among the conclusions of the meeting, the panellists agreed on the need to achieve early diagnosis and treatment in the shortest possible time in order to slow down the evolution of the disease and improve the quality of life of patients affected by this type of pathology and that of their families.
During the day, attendees were able to visit the exhibition "Eres Arte" (You are Art ), a photographic project promoted by Feder and Sanofi Genzyme.
