Representatives of the Association of Orphan and Ultra Orphan Medicinal Products Laboratories (AELMHU), the Federation of Rare Diseases Associations (FEDER), the Regional Ministry of Health of the Principality of Asturias and the Health Service of the Principality of Asturias (SESPA) met today at the 10th AELMHU Breakfast held in Oviedo to analyse the approach to rare diseases in the Principality of Asturias. During the meeting, it became clear that improving the quality of life and the socio-economic potential of people affected by rare and ultra-rare diseases requires greater cooperation and understanding, both at national and regional level, between the pharmaceutical industry, patient associations, medical health staff and public authorities.
